Mercedes W211, W219, W209 Keyless GO door handle repair kit: the evolution of MBKeyless
We developed a third version of our Keyless door handle repair modules for the Mercedes E-Class W211, CLS W219 and CLK W209. V3 looks similar to its predecessor from the outside. Inside, we changed almost every part.
These changes draw on our experience with approximately 1,500 V1 and V2 modules produced and sold. Here is what we improved and why.

What did we learn from earlier versions?
There were occasional failures. Two problems kept recurring: moisture inside the module and a sticking opening mechanism. We focused on both when developing V3.
We changed how the electronics are protected and the mechanism activated when the handle is pulled. Each change has a specific reason.
We draw on our own experience and the feedback you give us. It tells us what works in everyday use and what needs improvement. That is how we develop each new version of our kit.
How did we protect the electronics?
Earlier versions already had a separate electronics chamber filled with a protective compound. We used a hot-melt material then. In V3, we replaced it with polyurethane resin to improve protection against moisture and resistance to extreme temperatures.
We changed both the material and how we fill the chamber. To see where the resin reaches, we made transparent test modules.

We ran many such trials. We made successive samples, checked the fill and refined the design. Below are modules produced during that work.

Then we cut the samples open. This let us inspect the fill even in areas that cannot be seen from outside.

We checked different parts of the module to make sure the resin reached every component and connection that needed protection. We looked for voids where moisture could collect.

What did we improve in the opening mechanism?
In the previous version, the opening button sometimes stuck in the pressed position. In V3, we changed the microswitch and the mechanism around it so the button returns more reliably.
We tested this in practice. In our trials, the new mechanism returned more reliably than the old one. We also wanted it to cope better with dirt that can get around the button.

We also marked the modules left/right to make installation easier. We pay attention to the details.
What stayed the same?
We kept all the benefits of our kit: the module is easy to replace, and you can repair the handle without repainting it. You replace the part responsible for Keyless operation while keeping the original housing. Your car retains its colour and original appearance.
All at a reasonable price, far below the cost of a new original handle with the same design weakness.
